Cost:

$120.00 per month, payable on the first each month. In the event you are absent, please mail your check to the above address.
Please make checks payable to Elizabeth Bronson.

Absenses:

Please call , if possible, to let Emmy know if you are going to be absent.
This permits Emmy to grant another student a makeup session.

Missed classes may be made up.
Make arrangements ahead of time if possible, but you can call in the morning, just in case there is a last minute cancellation.

Make-ups cannot be used in lieu of payment for classes.
i.e. You can't use four make-ups for a month and not pay.

Make-ups are a courtesy on both the part of students and teacher.
Should Emmy require an absence, that class can be made up.

Supplies:

If you already have oil painting supplies, bring them to the first class.
They may be fine substitutes. Otherwise, try to have your supplies listed below and the following materials.

Disposable Paper Palatte

Palatte Knife (the kind with the crooked neck) 1 inch to 1 ½ inches

Oderless Mineral Spirits
(cheap, hard-wear brand. Transport to class in jar with tight lid.)

Paper Towels or Lint-Free Absorbant Rags

Liquin (a painting medium… small bottle is fine)

Paints:

All are Oil Pigments
* necessary paints
The following should be 37 ml tubes

Alizarin Crimson *
Cadmium Red Light *
Grumbacher Red or Cadmium Red Hue
Cadmium Yellow light *
Cadmium Orange
Burnt Sienna*
Yellow Ocher*
Burnt Umber*
Raw Umber
Raw Sienna
Ultramarine Blue*
(French Ultramarine or Permanent Blue are the same)
Thalo Blue *
Cerulean Blue
Sap Green*
Thalo Green*
Viridian Green
Cobalt Violet
Ivory Black

The following should be the large 150 ml tubes

Titanium White *

Brushes:

Winsor & Newton watercolor sable Series 707, #3
(Any watercolor detail brush can be substituted )
Winsor & Newton Rathbone hog bristle filbert #4, #6, & #8
(any bristle, filbert shaped brush can be substituted)
Raphael 3675 fan brush, one inch
(or comparable substitute)
Winsor & Newton "Monarch" filberts #4, #5, #6, #8
(choose at least two or three to get the feel of them)

These brushes will give you an adequate start. You may add brushes when you get more familiar with painting techniques.

Stretched Canvases:

12" x 16"   11" x 14"    16" x 20"    Choose any of these sizes
Fredrix Standard canvas
( red label, cotton duck, slightly textured,
not particulaly good for portraits or highly detailed or realistic work)

Fredrix Blue Label
(smooth surface, good for portraits or detailed, realistic work)
